Music therapy plays an important role in Tako’s life, she works as a music therapist with children and adults with different needs, disorders and conditions for 7 years.
- Tako Works in various rehabilitation and abilitation centers, with children with various disorders or needs (Mental Health Center “ Gamma,” Abilitation Center “Puzzle“ and Inclusive Dance School-Studio “Anisi”.
- Tako Has two foreigner supervisors, has close relationship with music therapy centers and specialists in the UK and US. Also, actively participates in trainings both in Georgia and abroad.
- Founder of the Center for the Development of Inclusive Music Education and co-founder of ICDI Arts.
Implemented projects during the last 2 years:
- Tako was involved voluntarily in providing music therapy and synthetic therapy (music therapy and inclusive dance) to up to 60 Ukrainian refugees for 3 months from the beginning of March 2022, with the support of World Vision in Georgia
- The same company has signed an agreement with her of the above-mentioned synthetic therapies, which will facilitate the continuous continuation of therapies and include the alleviation of the psycho-emotional state of more Ukrainian refugees.
- Project “Introduction of hybrid teaching method of music therapy in art schools-studios”
Recently created a hybrid method of conducting music therapy, which includes exercises that will be presented as a methodology and are designed for both online and face-to-face work. This project will be implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and will also include therapies, training and workshops.
- Grant project “Aqua Room” which includes training and therapies abroad, with the support of UNDP, COBERM, to share knowledge and experience with teachers and professionals.
- Tako is currently involved in a project of the British charity foundation “Music as Therapy international”, where she was offered training and skills sharing in one of the rehabilitation centers in Kutaisi, for children with various conditions and diagnoses.
Methodology and new ideas
- Tako is the co-founder of Fusion Arts, a music and dance synthesis therapy program that includes a synthesis of music therapy and inclusive dance.
- Author of the synthetic methodology “Music, Drama and Dance Synthesis” which was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and involved special teacher of inclusive dance, dramatherapist Ivane and music therapist. Supported by the project “Youth for Social Equality” and the inclusive school-studio “Azdaki Garden”, Tako worked as a music therapist in this center. The children of this studio were involved in this project.
Books
“Art for Integration”
The project was implemented with the support of USAID. The project covered therapies for a period of time in different regions of Georgia, as well as trained specialists from different regions and centers in music therapy, inclusive dance and drama therapy. At the end the hand book was created which includes 45 exercises in total, created specifically for this project and the target groups, presented in the form of videos on the youtube platform and is quite popular both in the country and abroad.
“The Musical Verse-Exercises for Children”
The book is followed by a CD 20 Therapeutic Exercise, which explains in detail how to perform a specific exercise. These videos are also posted on the youtube platform. (Link)
The project was implemented by the Ministry of Culture, the author of the idea was Tako Jordania, and the project was supported by the charity foundation “Ai Ia”, because at that time Tako worked in this organization as a music therapist.
